FAQS
-
Made Institute is a fashion, art, and design school focused on creative skills-based learning. We originally started out as an alternative fashion school and are now expanding to include Fine Arts and Design.
Made offers many ways to engage. Take a class or class series through our courses or workshops, enroll in a certificate or accelerator program, sign up for college prep, after-school, or summer camp (if you’re a kid or teen or have a kid or teen), or become a member.
-
Yes! We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of Private Licensed Schools. Please note that, currently, only our Fashion Certificate Program is under this license.
-
At Made, our philosophy is that creative education and exploration should be accessible and affordable. We cover all the essentials, offering intergenerational and all-level pathways to creative learning and support, such as courses, programs, workshops, youth offerings, and memberships. Made Institute is revolutionizing creative education by providing exactly what you need: all the skills-based learning without any filler. Made has no general education requirements, offers classes during the day, evening, and weekends, and operates on a part-time schedule, making a fulfilling curriculum achievable.

Individual courses focus on specific topics (e.g., Sewing, Patternmaking, Drawing, etc.) and meet once a week for six weeks (a total of six classes). Our programs (e.g., Fashion Certificate, Fashion Business Accelerator, etc.) require a greater commitment to complete. Workshops cover niche topics that change frequently (e.g., Denim Jacket, Upcycled Crossover Bag, Chainmail Jewelry, etc.) and require less time commitment. Our studio memberships give you access to the studio and all equipment for as long as you're a member.

Made Institute provides an alternative to traditional education models. We offer a pathway to earn a certificate through our Fashion Certificate Program, a fast-tracked, comprehensive fashion and professional development education completed in just 18 months.
-
Although a licensed school, we are currently ineligible to receive Federal Financial Aid for our students. As such, we have made our individual courses and programs tuition more affordable in comparison to other fashion, art, or design institutions. Additionally, we offer payment plans, making the path toward a creative career attainable. We believe education should be accessible, so we are currently working to partner with organizations that can provide grants, scholarships, and loan support for our certificate program students. Learn more about student financing support, and stay tuned for more updates!

Made Institute has two locations: one in Rittenhouse at 1719 Chestnut Street, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103, and the other in West Philly at 4719 Pine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19143. We do not have a dedicated parking lot, but street parking and paid parking are available at both locations. Additionally, both locations are conveniently located near public transport.
